I find it beautiful when men cry – Simi

Simi, a popular Nigerian musician, has encouraged guys to be frank about their sentiments.


She says she enjoys seeing males embrace their feelings.

In an interview with the 90's Baby Show, the singer admitted that she thinks it's wonderful when a man embraces his vulnerability rather than suppressing his emotions.

"I think it wonderful when males cry because I am surrounded by men who believe they must always be macho or powerful.

"When you see men and women going through the same pain, the man frequently says, 'I have to be strong for my wife or kids.'" That is fine with me, but I do not believe that being strong entails not being vulnerable or crying.

"I enjoy it when males cry because it shows that you feel safe with the person you're with, that you can be vulnerable, and let go. I've seen African males act like they're warriors, protectors, and providers. But if it isn't flowing out in your tears, it's going inside your heart, and one day you will just going to explode,” she explained.
