Simi, a Nigerian musician, has responded to the widespread outrage surrounding her recent performance at a poolside event.
Simi was called out on social media for wearing a provocative swimsuit to a function while being married.
In response to the backlash, the singer jokingly apologized for not knowing better in a viral video posted on her Instagram page.
"I just came here, feeling repentant. Guys, I went to the swimming pool with a swimsuit yesterday and I am very sorry. Honestly, I was not thinking. I should've known better. I didn't know better. I apologize.
"To show respect to my husband, I will wear a kaftan the next time I go swimming. I'll do better. Better than the best. I don't want to disappoint you or give you reason to dislike me or my marriage."
