Racism: Chelsea squad has forgiven Enzo Fernandez – Wesley Fofana
Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana acknowledged that the squad has accepted Argentina player Enzo Fernandez's apologies.
According to Fofana, his teammate was unaware of what he was singing and has already admitted his mistake.
The France international informed the reporters that Enzo had no intention of causing harm.
While celebrating their 2024 Copa America victory, the Argentina team, led by Enzo Fernandez, sang racist songs about French players.
This caused a lot of controversy, and some fans demanded that the Blues discipline the player.
However, Fofana stated that the matter is now behind them.
"You see Enzo is back, and I'm overjoyed. We spoke together. I expressed why I disliked the video.
"He explained." He apologized since he didn't want to offend French fans or anyone. He didn't understand what he was singing. And I trust him.
Because I know him. I know Enzo. He is not a racist. It's simply that the video is poor. It isn't only Enzo. "It is the Argentine team."
"Enzo appears in the video, but if he were from another country, I would have released the same message.
"Certainly, it was a big deal because we play on the same team. But now that it's finished, it's fine."
