Super Eagles: Labbadia to name foreign helpers
Bruno Labbadia, the newly hired Super Eagles head coach, is preparing to pick his international assistants.
TalkTalk Nigeria says that Labbadia's appointment was announced on Tuesday.
The German is anticipated to choose two international assistants, while the rest would be local coaches hired by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
According to sources, Labbadia plans to hire foreign helpers from the trio of Erdinç Sözer, Olaf Janßen, and Bernhard Trares.
Sözer is regarded as the 58-year-old's most dependable assistant and is likely to be his top option.
The pair have previously worked together at Bayer Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart, VfL Wolfsburg, and Hertha Berlin.
He is now unemployed after quitting Turkish club Samsunspor on June 30, 2024.
Trares, a former centre-back, began working with Labbadia in 2015 at Hamburg and continued their cooperation at VfB Stuttgart. He's currently without a club.
Janßen, who is presently the manager of Viktoria Köln, may be unavailable at this time due to his club commitments.
