Chukwuma stumbled in the event's semi-finals and finished last.

She took the lead early in the race but was unable to maintain it.

In the men's shot put final, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi finished fifth with a throw of 21.42m, missing out on a medal.

Ryan Crouser of the United States won the gold medal with a throw of 22.90 metres.

His countrymen Joe Kovacs took silver with a throw of 22.15m, while Jamaica's Rajindra Campbell finished third with the same distance.
