Onyeka Onwenu, AKA 'Elegant Stallion', a Nigerian veteran music legend, has been laid to rest in Lagos State.

Onwenu's funeral was held in the Fountain of Life Church in Lagos' Ilupeju neighborhood, and he was buried privately in an Ikoyi mausoleum.

Onwenu was a singer-songwriter, actor, journalist, activist, and politician.

The late singer collapsed and died on July 30 at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja, after singing at the birthday party of Dr Stella Okoli, Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi attended Onwenu's funeral service.
