Ballon d'Or: He's the best - Capello selects favorite player to win award

Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has named Manchester City midfielder Rodri as his favourite to win the 2024 Ballon d'Or.

The former Los Blancos manager emphasized how the defensive midfielder performed effectively in all three big competitions.

The competitions include the Premier League, Champions League, and the 2024 European Championship, which he won with Spain.


Capello, speaking to Il Corriere della Sera, stated that Rodri was the finest player last season.

The Italian told One Football, "I'd award Rodri for his exploits in the Premier League, Champions League, and Euros. "He was the best of the season."

Rodri previously stated to the Daily Mirror, "I would love for a defensive midfielder like myself to win it."
