NWFL Championship Playoffs: NFF suspends two officials for misconduct.
The Nigeria Football Federation has suspended two match officials for bad officiating during the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship in Calabar.
Referee Amamong Idongesit Anthony of Akwa Ibom and Assistant Referee Blessing Nwika of Rivers are among the officials affected.
The officials have been removed from future involvement in the competition.
The ruling, which takes effect immediately, is based on their behavior during the Imo Striker Queens vs. Pelican Stars match at the UJ Esuene Stadium on Sunday, September 1st, 2024.
The NFF determined that the performance of both officials harmed the integrity of officiating, the NWFL, the tournament, and the sport.
The NFF stated that the organization is committed to upholding high standards of fairness and integrity in all of its competitions and would not hesitate to take appropriate measures against any type of wrongdoing by match officials.
