Victoria Monet and boyfriend John Gaines issued a joint statement to declare their divorce.

Victoria Monet, an American musician, and her partner, John Gaines, have acknowledged their split after years of together.

In a joint statement issued on Monday, the couple confessed that they had been separated for ten months.

They underlined that their separation was amicable and not caused by "infidelity, toxic behaviour, or drama."

According to them, the separation was necessary to allow them to pursue some basic growth that would be best accomplished separately, as well as to be the best versions of themselves for their kid.

The statement stated in part, "We spent the last 10 months trying to navigate the fact that we are no longer in a relationship in a respectful and private manner." Although we still adore and respect one other, we are no longer a couple.

"There was no cheating, poisonous behavior, or drama. We both have some fundamental growing to do, which is better done separately, so that we may be the best versions of ourselves for our kid.
