How I Handled Deaths of Loved Ones- Davido
Popular Nigerian artist David Adeleke, often known as Davido, has spoken out about how he copes with the grief of losing loved ones.
The singer is no stranger to sadness, having lost his mother, Mrs Victoria Imade Adeleke, at the age of 11, his three-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, as well as pals Tagbo, DJ Olu, Obama DMW, and personal photographer Fortune, all in quick succession.
In a recent interview with Mystery Fashionist in New York, Davido stated that his religion has kept him going through the traumas.
"I have lost many folks. I lost my mother at the age of eleven. I'm simply being strong. I performed a song called 'Stand Strong.'
"I feel like strength and obviously, my faith has kept me going," he told me.
Davido also clarified certain myths about himself.
"I believe that some people perceive me as unapproachable. Another common misperception is that I am too accessible.
"I grew up in a large household, so I'm used to having people around me. "My talent and success are God-given," he stated.
