'Charge according to your merit', Shallipopi advises artists

Singer Shallipopi has advised his peers to price according to their worth.

He said this while discussing the hefty fees paid by Nigerian artistes.

In an interview with News Central TV, the singer stated that an artist's value is proportional to the success and reach of their work.
While refuting the assumption that Nigerian musicians have pricing themselves out of the local market, he emphasized that artists who achieve similar streaming numbers to American artists should demand equivalent amounts.

"Your pricing will be determined by your music and its success.

"If your song has received the same stream as an American musician, you should charge the same way they charge, but if is not up to that you cannot overcharge,” he stated.
