VeryDarkMan Accuses EFCC of Plotting His Arrest, Claims Insider Tip-Off
Popular and controversial social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of allegedly planning to arrest and frame him.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the outspoken activist claimed that a prominent lawyer and a social media influencer recently visited the EFCC’s Abuja office, where they allegedly presented video clips and a picture of him spraying money as evidence against him.
According to him, the visit was aimed at influencing the EFCC to take action against him, particularly because he has been vocally critical of the commission’s chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede.
"I Have Informants in Your Office" – VeryDarkMan Speaks Out
In his video, VeryDarkMan confidently stated that he has inside sources within the EFCC who alerted him about the alleged plan:
“EFCC Abuja, I heard you people had two visitors today—one an influencer and the other a very big influential lawyer. I know you would be wondering how I found out, but the truth is, I have informants in your office.
"They brought one or two clips about me and a picture of where I was spraying money. They said, ‘This is an opportunity for you to go for VeryDarkMan.’
"And the officer they spoke to also said, ‘Yes, VeryDarkMan has been coming for us, he speaks about our Oga and has been talking to EFCC rudely.’ So, you people’s interests aligned, and you are teaming up against me. I heard you are trying to frame me.”
A Case of Intimidation or Justified Investigation?
VeryDarkMan has built a reputation as a fearless social media critic, consistently calling out government agencies, celebrities, and public figures over issues of corruption, injustice, and social misconduct. His claims against the EFCC have sparked widespread reactions, with some Nigerians questioning whether he is being targeted for his outspoken nature, while others argue that if he indeed engaged in financial misconduct, he should face due process.
The EFCC is yet to officially respond to his allegations. However, the situation has once again raised concerns about freedom of speech, accountability, and potential abuse of power by authorities.
With his latest claims, the big question remains: Is VeryDarkMan being silenced for his activism, or is he simply trying to preempt an impending legal case?
