Police Confirm Lil Smart’s Arrest After Naira Marley’s Petition
Popular Nigerian dancer Lil Smart has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) following a petition filed by singer Naira Marley.
The arrest was confirmed on Friday by police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, nearly two weeks after Lil Smart’s sudden disappearance sparked concerns online.
According to Adejobi, Lil Smart was taken into custody for criminal defamation, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and spreading falsehoods against Naira Marley.
“Following a filed petition for criminal defamation, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and falsehood, the Force also secured the arrest of one Idowu Smart Emmanuel, who eventually admitted to his crimes and confessed that his allegations were false.”
Lil Smart Admits Making False Accusations
In a trending video, the dancer was paraded by the police, where he admitted to fabricating allegations against Naira Marley. Lil Smart expressed deep regret for calling out the singer and his associate, Zinoleesky, without solid evidence.
His confession comes after he had previously accused the duo of threatening his life in a disturbing Instagram post on December 9, 2024.

Before the official police confirmation, Nollywood filmmaker Stanley Ontop had earlier accused Naira Marley of secretly arresting Lil Smart without a trace.
