William Gallas Questions Arteta’s Ability to Manage Victor Osimhen Amid Transfer Speculations

William Gallas Questions Arteta’s Ability to Manage Victor Osimhen Amid Transfer Speculations

Former Arsenal captain William Gallas has stirred up debate by suggesting that Mikel Arteta may lack the personality required to manage a high-profile player like Victor Osimhen. Gallas made this remark while advocating for Arsenal to secure the Nigerian striker’s services during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Osimhen, currently playing on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in the spotlight for his exceptional performances. At just 26 years old, he has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.

During his interview with Prime Casino, Gallas emphasized Osimhen’s potential as a valuable addition to Arsenal’s squad.

“Osimhen would be the man I would try to sign. He has been performing well for Galatasaray, obviously on loan from Napoli, and he is only going to be there for a season. He is a good player. Maybe not the player, but perhaps he could score 20 goals a season.”

According to Gallas, Osimhen’s ability to draw defenders’ attention could complement players like Kai Havertz, giving the Gunners a much-needed edge in their attacking force. However, the ex-Arsenal star was quick to express doubts about Arteta’s capability to handle strong personalities like Osimhen.

“Maybe Mikel Arteta doesn’t have the personality to manage players like Osimhen or to deal with players who have strong personalities.”

Opinion: Is Arteta Ready for a Star Like Osimhen?

While Gallas’ opinion might be seen as overly critical, it raises a valid point about the dynamics of handling star players with powerful personalities. Arteta’s managerial style has proven effective with young, disciplined players, but bringing in an established striker like Osimhen will undoubtedly test his man-management skills.

From a tactical standpoint, Osimhen’s physicality, speed, and clinical finishing could solve Arsenal’s issues upfront. Yet, whether Arteta can create an environment that accommodates Osimhen’s style and personality remains a question that only time can answer.

But one thing is clear: If Arsenal truly wants to compete for top honors, taking calculated risks on players like Victor Osimhen might be the missing piece to their puzzle.
