Bandits abduct Zamfara varsity construction workers
Bandits have kidnapped nine construction workers at Zamfara State's Federal University Gusau.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria, robbers kidnapped a large number of students from the same university in the early hours of Friday (today).
One of the staffers, who identified himself as Ibrahim Mohammed, told The TalkTalk Nigeria that the bandits arrived at the university in the early hours of Friday.
He claimed that the bandits broke into the building where the constitution workers were resting and stole them away as soon as they arrived.
Mohammad explained that he was able to jump over the window and took to his heels.
He said, “When they broke into the building, they told us to come out and follow them.
“I was looking at the way to escape, then suddenly I jumped over the window and one of the bandits fired a shot but could not get me.”
All attempts to obtain feedback from university officials were futile.
However, one of the institution's security personnel, who chose anonymity, told The PUNCH that he couldn't comment on the development.
"Please bear with us," he said. I work as a security officer at this university.
"You are aware of what occurred in relation to the kidnapping of our students and construction workers.
