NPFL: Akwa United will come good again—Windy
Abasiakan Windy, Akwa United's assistant coach, feels the team's struggles in the Nigeria Premier Football League are only temporary setbacks.
Windy vowed that the Promise Keepers would return to winning ways shortly.
Mohammed Babaganaru's side suffered their second defeat in four days, losing 1-0 to Enyimba in a postponed matchday three clash in Aba on Wednesday.
Akwa United is winless in the NPFL season.
"We came to Aba to fight for maximum points, but the result is not what we expected," Windy stated in a post-match interview.
"We anticipated it was going to be a tough match, so we prepared accordingly. Despite the fact that we did not receive the desired outcome, I must praise my players for putting up a fight.
"Don't forget, the league is a marathon, and what we're going through right now is just a temporary setback, and it's even better that it's happening now so we have plenty of time to adjust."
"We strongly believe that we will come out of this struggle soon enough" .
Akwa United's next match is against Rivers United in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
