Napoli Sporting Director Shuts Down Osimhen Transfer Speculations
Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has dismissed rumors surrounding Victor Osimhen’s potential January transfer. Speaking to DAZN, Manna clarified that no club has approached Napoli about activating the striker’s release clause, reported to be around €75 million.
Osimhen, who joined Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan in September, has a clause in his contract that could allow him to leave as early as January. However, Manna firmly stated that the Nigerian international is expected to remain with Galatasaray for the rest of the campaign.
“I already said many times, nobody has talked to us. Victor is owned by Napoli and currently playing for Galatasaray. I think too much has been said about this; there is nothing happening,” Manna reiterated.
Osimhen’s Impressive Form Sparks Interest
The 25-year-old forward has been in scintillating form for Galatasaray, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in just nine league appearances. His performances have inevitably drawn attention from top European clubs, sparking speculation about his future.
However, Manna’s comments suggest Napoli has no intention of disrupting the current loan arrangement.
Opinion: Staying the Course Could Benefit All Parties
For both Napoli and Galatasaray, keeping Osimhen where he is might be the smartest move. Napoli benefits from a player sharpening his skills in a competitive environment, while Galatasaray enjoys the presence of a world-class striker driving their title ambitions.
Osimhen himself seems to be thriving in Turkey, and a mid-season move could risk unsettling his form. While fans may dream of seeing the striker in their favorite team’s jersey sooner rather than later, patience could yield better long-term outcomes for all involved.
As the January transfer window approaches, the football world will be watching closely. But for now, it seems Osimhen will continue dazzling fans in the Turkish Super Lig.
