EPL: Man Utd likely to play in Europa League next season – Ten Hag
Erik ten Hag, Manchester United's manager, has confirmed that the team would most likely compete in the Europa League next season.
Ten Hag spoke to BBC Match of the Day after their 1-1 draw with Burnley on Saturday.
Antony put United ahead in the 79th minute, but Zeki Amdouni leveled from the spot.
The result puts Ten Hag's team in sixth place with 54 points and four games remaining.
United are 12 points behind Aston Villa, who hold the final Champions League position.
When asked if Europa League qualification was most likely, Ten Hag said, "That is the facts." It's not easy to finish fourth when you're so far behind.
"We had to win." We've gotten into winning positions in recent weeks only to lose them. "The gap is too large at this point in the season."
