2024 AMVCA: Pay your designers to avoid embarrassment – Whitemoney to colleagues
Reality TV personality and musician Hazel Oyeze Onou, also known as Whitemoney, has advised his teammates to pay the designers of their outfits for the 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards, or AMVCA, to avoid embarrassment.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria, Nigerian and African celebrities from all walks of life exuded glamor as they gathered at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos on Saturday for the 10th Annual Music Video Awards.
Whitemoney has issued a warning against being indebted to its designers in order to avoid public disgrace following their famous fashion statements at the AMVCA.
In a video message posted to his Instagram account, the former Big Brother Naija winner stated, "I've been receiving calls about my absence from the AMVCA. How would I go? Do you not seeing what these brothers are wearing?
"Look at Neo Akpofure's dress. Elozonam was dressed entirely in white, as if he had been deported from heaven to construct his own heaven on Earth. Saga resembled all these pink Barbie dudes. His clothing was fantastic. I can't match their styles. To create an AMVCA-appropriate costume, you would need to spend at least one million naira, plus the cost of a stylist.
"I am not an actor, so I am not bothered. AMVCA exerts pressure. Imagine spending over a million naira on an outfit you'll only wear once. The ladies were simply killing it. Next year, we'll be moving. I can't relate. However, please make sure you pay your designers in full to avoid them calling you out on social media.”
