NPFL: Rivers United desperate to bounce back from Sunshine Stars defeat

Rivers United, of Nigeria's Premier Football League, are sure they will recover from their tight setback to Sunshine Stars.



The Pride of Rivers lost 1-0 against the Owena Waves in Akure on Sunday.

Rivers United have gone winless in their past four league games.

Their hopes for a European ticket are dwindling as a result of their recent bad form.

Rivers United are 11th in the NPFL rankings, with 41 points.


Evan Ogenyi's side is 12 points from a continental position.

"We will bounce back together stronger," the team wrote on their X handle.

Rivers United will face Abia Warriors in their next encounter at Umuahia on Wednesday.
