Euro 2024: Carragher predicts teams to play final, win tournament
Liverpool veteran Jamie Carragher predicts that France and Germany will meet in the final of this year's Euro 2024, with France winning.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Carragher also expressed doubts about England's chances against France.
"I don't see how England beat France," Carragher explained. "We're talking about Harry Kane scoring a penalty, the smallest stuff. Bellingham is a game changer, playing for Real Madrid two years after the last tournament.
Carragher predicted that Germany's home advantage will certainly carry them to the final, regardless of their current condition.
"I believe Germany is in the final because they are at home. If this tournament were held somewhere else, I doubt I would have picked Germany in the final right now. I look at maybe Portugal finding it tough in a stadium full of German supporters.”
While conceding the difficulty France will have in a final against the hosts, Carragher feels their experience will see them through.
"France would have that problem in the final, but the experience they've got, players who have won the World Cup and been in [another] final, I just think France will have enough to beat Germany in their own backyard," he said.
