‘I was scammed while trying to join Wizkid’s label’ – Seyi Vibez

Seyi Vibez, a popular Nigerian artist, has revealed how he was duped when attempting to join Wizkid's record label, Starboy Entertainment, in the early stages of his career.


He recalls searching Google for information on how to join Starboy Entertainment and finding a number. When he called the number, he said he was requested to pay N10,000 for the registration form, which he paid but was blocked afterward.

The 'Cana' hitmaker said this in a recent interview with Wazobia FM in Lagos.

Vibez stated, "When I was 13 years old and wanted to sign with Starboy, I went to Google and typed 'How to register to Starboy record label.'" I saw one number and called it; the guy who answered said I should pay for form N10,000.

"That's how I sold my phone and paid the person N10,000, but after that he blocked me. He informed me that he was Wizkid's recruiting officer. I agreed to attend the screening, perform, and have Wizkid judge my performance. "So I fell for it."


He warned aspiring artists not to sign up with any record label online.
