World Cup qualifier: Finidi may name replacements for injured Chukwueze, Onyeka

Nigeria's injury concerns include Samuel Chukwueze and Frank Onyeka, who face South Africa and Benin Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.


Chukwueze, who has missed the last two games for AC Milan due to injury, was not named to the Rooseneri's squad for the friendly against AS Roma in Australia.

Despite his recent lack of participation at club level, the 24-year-old winger was unexpectedly named to the Super Eagles team for the World Cup qualifiers.

Onyeka also missed Brentford's past two Premier League matches due to injury.

According to speculations, head coach Finidi George may have to name successors for the duo.


Victor Osimhen has already been replaced by Kenneth Igboke due to injury, while Ibrahim Olawoyin was called up on Thursday after Nathan Tella pulled out due to injury.
