‘Everybody needs to have a pinch of Portable in them’ – D’banj
Ayra Starr, a Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer and composer, has spoken up about her struggles with writer's block and how they affected her.
“’21’ is special because it is what opened my mind to the rest of the album. With ’21’ I started to see myself again the way I wanted to see myself.”
D'banj, a Nigerian singer, has expressed love for his controversial colleague Portable.
The 'Oliver Twist' hitmaker admitted that he wishes he could be like Portable, emphasizing that he and the 'Zazu' singer have something in common.
D'banj went on to say that everyone could use a little Portable.
In a recent interview with The Beat FM in Lagos, the Koko Master stated, "I wish I could be like Portable because he is doing the way I used to do." If you feel something in the night, call Don Jazzy. You drop it in the morning.
"Remember how we did things back then. But now they're telling us to wait two or three weeks before putting it on the playlist. Forget it. I think everybody needs a pinch of Portable in them. I think that is what he reminds me of; for you to take everything as an opportunity. They said for you to make it in life you’ve to be lucky. Luck is opportunity finding talent. That’s what we are.” [sic].
