Euro 2024: So good – John Stones hails Arsenal target
England defender John Stones has praised Arsenal target Marc Guehi for his performance in the 2017 European Championships.
Both players have created a formidable defensive partnership for England at Euro 2024.
Gareth Southgate brought in Guehi to replace the injured Harry Maguire, and he has played with Stones thus far in the Euros.
Stones stated that he is impressed with his partnership with the 23-year-old.
Manchester City defender Stones praised Guehi, who is being pursued by Arsenal, for prospering under the burden of being thrust into the starting lineup on such a grand scale.
He told The Boot Room, "So good. For him to come in and not have felt the feelings associated with tournament football or these types of games, there are all kinds of different emotions that come with it that you've never felt before. His results have been excellent.
"I told him that when we're in this, or whoever is playing, or whoever I'm playing with, I'm your right arm and you're my left.
"We do it together. I have your back, and he has fully embraced that. I believe strongly in partnerships in which everyone works together, and I think he handled the situation admirably, and I truly love playing with him."
