Planned August 1 protest is for the poor, I’m rich – Portable
Controversial Portable, a Nigerian singer, has stated that the planned statewide demonstration is intended for poor Nigerians.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria, a nationwide protest with the hashtag #EndBadGovernance is scheduled for August 1 to August 10, 2024.
The protest has been the focus of media attention for the past week.
Portable explained in a popular video on social media that he chose to participate in the 2020 #EndSARS demonstration because he was poor.
He mentioned that millionaires such as Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola do not participate in protests.
"They claimed I joined the demonstration in 2020. That was poor thinking! "Now that I have money, I think like a wealthy person," he explained.
"Have you ever witnessed Otedola and Dangote protest? You won't see someone like Dele Momodu. Better mind your own business! I didn't have any money then. "I am now thinking like a rich man."
Remember that Portable already stated that he will not be joining the demonstration because he is financially secure.
Portable achieved famous in 2021, following the release of "Zazoo."Zeh’, his hit single featuring Olamide and Poco Lee.
