‘Why I now identify as Igbo’ – Rapper, Idowest
Adekunle Idowu, aka Idowest, an indigenous rapper, has stated that despite being Yoruba by birth, he now identifies as an Igbo.
The Yoruba-language rapper made this statement while bemoaning the country's hardships and the opposition of certain fellow Yorubas to the planned #EndBadGovernance demonstration.
He further suggested that those opposed to the planned statewide protests were sentimental.
In a series of photos on his Snapchat page, Idowest wrote: "Your papa vote for Tinubu, you join say no to protest, you con obtain my mental bill. Onijere aye orun.
"Bad government! Imagine Yoruba screaming in Yoruba's name! Eti Yawerey. From now on, I will be Igbo.
"Una sells one-dollar futures. OK.
"Na Nigerians, Nigerian problems! While some individuals prepare to demonstrate peacefully, some useless citizens intend to protest. Tori, 1500 naira ede beru, ebi apa!
"Say no to protest, bawo. Tori 1500 naira, yin ti baje."
