‘Asake and I were dating roommates’ – Rapper Cheque
Super Boy Cheque, a Nigerian rapper, has discussed his relationships with some of his peers in the entertainment world.
The 'Zoom' singer revealed that he has been pals with many of his colleagues, including Asake, Fireboy DML, Blaqbonez, and Yhemolee, since their days as undergraduates at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Cheque revealed that he and Asake were formerly dating housemates on university.
He stated that Yhemolee, whom he met through one of his ex-girlfriends, introduced him to many of his coworkers.
"I met Yhemolee through one of my previous relationships. "My friend was his friend, and she introduced me to Yhemolee at an event around 2012," he recounted.
"From there, I met Fireboy and Blaqbonez, and I began meeting everyone through Yhemolee." I was studying chemical engineering and was not interested in music because it was for non-serious people. But, in the end, I became completely involved with music. It felt like a calling. I couldn't resist. So I met those guys and began going to the studio with them. I met Asake while I was staying with Yhemolee. Asake and I were dating two women in the same room. We always moved together to their residence. It was a pretty chaotic period.
"The link is quite strong. I've been pals with Fireboy DML and Blaqbonez for 14 years.
