Euro 2024: Mbappe ready to send Ronaldo’s Portugal out of tournament
Despite his adoration for Cristiano Ronaldo, France captain Kylian Mbappe says he is looking forward to defeating Portugal in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals on Friday.
Mbappe said ahead of the encounter that he speaks with "unique" Ronaldo on a regular basis.
"It is a true honour; everyone knows how much I admire him. He's still a legend, and we're in communication, but I'm hoping to win tomorrow.
"We have to recognize who he is and what he has accomplished; he is a one-of-a-kind player. "His CV speaks for itself," Mbappe said during a press conference.
Mbappé and France have yet to score from open play in four games, relying on penalties and own goals to get to this point.
