I don't regard Ayra Starr as an industry friend—Darkoo

Nigerian singer Darkoo has opened up about her friendship with colleague Ayra Starr.

During her most recent visit on the Uncut Podcast, Darkoo mentioned that Ayra Starr is more like a sister than an industry acquaintance.

"I have some friends in the industry; I don't think I'm seeking for pals in the profession, but in general. I feel like I found that in Ayra Starr; I don't see her as an industry friend, but as my sister.

"We merge so well because we are so similar, but what I really admire about her is how courteous she is. You can tell she's a proper Naija girl. By the way she perceives life. She and I also learn a lot from each other, which I enjoy.

"In terms of going out with people, I wouldn't call them my buddies. I'm a pretty nice person, so it's simple to form that type of friendship, but it doesn't extend beyond seeing each other and DMing each other. I believe that long-distance friendship is OK since seeing the finish line is real. People begin to disrespect you when they get too near and too comfortable with you.”
