EndBadGovernance: DJ Switch challenges Wike and Dokubo to appear in public with their threats
During the ongoing statewide hunger protests, famous Nigerian DJ and activist Obianuju Catherine, also known as DJ Switch, has challenged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and former Niger Delta militant commander Asari Dokubo.
According to TalkYalk Nigeria, the 10-day statewide hunger protests known as 'EndBadGovernance', which highlight Nigeria's economic challenges, began on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
Before the demonstration, Asari Dokubo warned the organizers not to bring the protest to his territory, stating that their program does not address local issues.
Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, has also intimated that Abuja would be unavailable for the protests.
Also, during a meeting with the security council in Abuja on Thursday, the first day of the protests, Wike stated that intelligence suggests the protestors want to harm property.
In response to Wike and Dokubo's remarks over the weekend, DJ Switch, a popular Nigerian entertainer, asked both men to appear in public and confront the demonstrators if they were not afraid.
The DJ, who was one of the organizers of the 2020 EndSARS protests, stated in a social media post that the only solution to people's hunger is food, not violence or threats.
She wrote, "The only thing that can stop hunger is food!" Not weapons, teargas, or threats from obese globs like Asari Dokubo or chicken feed Wike! I wonder why they are hiding now. Come outside let them eat you raw,” her tweet read,
