AFCON 2025 qualifier: Super Eagles in Kigali to beat Rwanda – Troost-Ekong
Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has stated that the team is in Kigali to secure maximum points against Rwanda.
Troost-Ekong and his teammates landed in Kigali on Sunday for the second matchday of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign.
The three-time African champions will face the Amavubi at Kigali's Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday.
Troost-Ekong stated that while the game will be challenging, he is confident that the Super Eagles will win.
"There isn't much to say except that we're here for a reason. Our goal is three points, and we've discussed the importance of going all out from the moment the referee blows the whistle," the centre-back told thenff.com.
"It will be a challenging game because Rwanda has a talented team that earned a point in their first encounter. We must not give up over the 90 minutes."
The Super Eagles defeated Benin Republic 3-0 in their qualifying series match.
Rwanda, on the other side, played Libya to a 1-1 draw.
