Real Madrid identify player to sign as Toni Kroos’ replacement
Real Madrid is considering Rodri, a Manchester City midfielder, as a replacement for the retiring Toni Kroos.
Kroos plans to retire after the 2018 European Championship.
The 34-year-old, regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time, will call it a career after Euro 2024 in Germany.
His farewell appearance for the club will be in the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on June 1 at Wembley.
Rodri has been a vital player for Manchester City since signing four years ago.
According to Tribal Football, the La Liga champions are interested in purchasing the 27-year-old.
However, any transfer would be complicated because Rodri's contract with City runs until 2027.
Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich is also under consideration as an alternative.
