2026 WCQ: Ndidi keen to face former Super Eagles coach, Rohr
Wilfred Ndidi is excited about facing former Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria, Rohr, who guided the Super Eagles from 2016 to 2021, will lead the Squirrels of Benin Republic against his former side in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Monday.
The match will take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
Ndidi stated that playing the Frenchman will be a significant motivator for the Super Eagles.
"Gernot Rohr coached us for five years, but during that time, players came and went," the Leicester City player said at a press conference before the game.
"Facing him is motivating because we know he's a terrific coach and will prepare to win.
"We approaching that game we have to show him that he actually missed something in the team, that's what we have to do now."
