2026 WCQ: We want to do the impossible – Super Eagles react to 2-1 Benin defeat
The Super Eagles have promised to recover from their 2-1 loss to Benin Republic in a 2026 World Cup qualifier on Monday.
Nigeria is yet to win a game in the series, having drawn its first three matches.
Finidi George's side took the lead in Abidjan but conceded twice before halftime.
Following the loss, the players and their coach flew back to the country.
In a tweet on X confirming their arrival, the Eagles said on their official handle: "We are back in the country, and we are unhappy with how the two games turned out.
"We have had discussions among ourselves and have vowed to fight hard to the finish to guarantee we do the impossible, which is qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
“We don’t take your support for granted, we thank you immensely.”
