Transfer: Al Merreikh’s transfer won’t affect Super Eagles’ chance – Olorunleke

Ojo Olorunleke has refuted claims that his move to Sudanese club Al Merreikh could jeopardize his chances of playing for the Super Eagles.

Olorunleke played his final game for Enyimba, the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions, against Plateau United on Sunday.

The 29-year-old has been on Enyimba's roster for three years.

The shot-stopper will now pitch his tent alongside Al Merreikh.

He has signed a two-year contract with The People's Elephant.


"I don't believe that it's the same football," Olorunleke said when asked about his prospects of staying on the Super Eagles squad.

"This is the same football. Even where I am going (Sudan), I will not say it is superior to Nigerian football, you understand?
