Transfer: Stemmer urges Orlando Pirates to sign Nwabali
Thabang Stemmer, a former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, has defined what Stanley Nwabali would contribute to the Sea Robbers if he signs this summer.
Pirates are allegedly among the clubs interested in signing the goalkeeper.
Nwabali has piqued the interest of many this season, notably with his outstanding performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire.
Saudi teams El-Ettifaq, Queen Park Rangers, and Kaizer Chiefs are among those competing for his services.
Pirates recently released goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Siyabonga Mpontshane after their contracts expired.
Stemmer believes that if Nwabali joins the Buccaneers, he will bring depth to the goalkeeping position.
"The reason Pirates released the two, I think it's because they want to beef up with Stanley Nwabali," Stemmer told Kickoff last week.
"Even when I was still playing, Pirates always stocked up on elite goalkeepers. All of the larger teams require elite goalkeepers.
"Remember, Pirates go deeper in all competitions. If Nwabali comes, it would be beneficial to the Pirates. "We need competition."
