Court grants Mohbad’s family permission to conduct second autopsy
The Ikorodu Magistrate's Court in Lagos State has granted permission to the late singer Mohbad's family to conduct a second autopsy.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria, the singer's family was dissatisfied with the original autopsy results, which were inconclusive.
The 27-year-old singer died in dubious circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day.
Following calls from Nigerians to determine the reason of his death, his remains was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
His family, however, rejected the autopsy results because they failed to reveal the cause of death. She also urged with the presiding magistrate of the coroner's inquest to ensure that the court receives an independent toxicology report before the final report is presented to the authorities.
However, during a hearing on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, the Ikorodu magistrate court gave Mohad's family and legal representatives permission to conduct a second autopsy.
