'Mohbad's father sought a rapid burial after Davido's N2 million donation,' - PA tells court.
Adeyemo Boluwatife, Mohbad's personal assistant, alleged that the late singer's father, Joseph Aloba, wanted his son's immediate burial after collecting N2 million from Davido.
Adeyemo made this statement while testifying at the coroner's inquest in Ikorodu on Wednesday.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria, the Lagos State Government convened an inquest on September 29, 2023, to determine the cause of Mohbad's death.
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, under questionable circumstances, and was buried the next day.
Following the calls for justice across the nation, his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.
However, at a court appearance on Wednesday, Adeyemo, Mohbad's nephew, informed the Ikorodu magistrate court that Mohbad's father insisted on burying him immediately after receiving N2 million from Davido.
Adeyemo further stated that he transferred N1 million to Aloba and then delivered the remainder to Adura, Mohbad's younger brother, after paying medical costs and ambulance rental fees.
According to TheCable, Adeyemo also revealed that detectives seized the deceased's phone following his death.
