Transfer: Chelsea hands down from signing Nigerian-born forward for Maresca
Chelsea have given up on signing Nigerian-born attacker Samu Omorodion for their new boss, Enzo Maresca, this summer.
The Premier League west London club will instead concentrate on other ambitions.
Omorodion, who presently plays for Atletico Madrid, has been named as Chelsea's key attacking target during the summer transfer window.
The Blues are determined to bolster their front line to help kick off the Maresca era.
Victor Osimhen, Jhon Duran, and Viktor Gyokeres have all been connected with Chelsea, and reports last week stated the club had launched a £42 million bid to get Omorodion away from Atletico Madrid.
However, the La Liga club rejected the offer outright, and Chelsea has 'had enough of hitting a wall', according to MARCA.
According to the source, the latest development has prompted Chelsea to abandon their pursuit of the 21-year-old talent.
