Dolly Parton reacted to claims that she is Miley Cyrus' eighth cousin.

American country music superstar Dolly Parton has responded to allegations that she and Miley Cyrus are seventh cousins.

According to the family history website Ancestry.Com, Miley Cyrus is distant cousins with Dolly Parton and the late Michael Jackson.

Parton responded to the report in an interview with Access Hollywood, saying she was not surprised and that Cyrus feels like family.
"Miley and I are extremely close. I believed we were at least third cousins, ten times removed... "It doesn't surprise me because she feels like family," she explained.

"I'm sure [Miley] will get a kick out of that!"

Miley Cyrus previously stated that Dolly Parton is her role model.
