Abu Azeez: "Remo Stars Will Have Only Themselves to Blame If They Miss NPFL Title"

Former Kano Pillars midfielder Abu Azeez has made a bold statement regarding Remo Stars’ title ambitions, insisting that the Sky Blue Stars are in full control of their destiny in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title race.

With 51 points and a 10-point lead at the top of the table, Daniel Ogunmodede’s side is in prime position to clinch their first-ever NPFL crown. However, Azeez warns that anything less than total focus could derail their historic run.

“If anything goes wrong, Remo Stars will have only themselves to blame,” Azeez told Official54fx.
“With 13 games to go and a 10-point lead, all they need to do is maintain their strong home record and aim for a win or a draw in away matches.”

Opinion: Is the Pressure Now on Remo Stars?

While Ogunmodede has been cautious about title talk, Azeez's comments bring a new perspective—Remo Stars are now expected to deliver. A 10-point lead with 13 games to go is a significant cushion, but complacency or a dip in form could change everything.

Maintaining a fortress at home and grinding out results away will be crucial. If they falter, the heartbreak of back-to-back second-place finishes in the last two seasons could repeat itself.

Do you agree with Azeez? Is this Remo Stars’ title to lose, or is there still a twist left in the NPFL race? Share your thoughts! ⚽🔵
