Ondo governor's REC acknowledges receipt of BVAS, non-sensitive materials ahead of poll.

Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, has confirmed that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and non-sensitive documents have arrived in the state ahead of the November 16 governorship election.

According to the REC, INEC is leaving nothing to chance in ensuring that the commission conducts smooth and flawless polls in the state.

Babalola, who announced this during a media briefing with journalists, insisted that security agencies are also prepared for the off-cycle governorship election and that vote-buying would be addressed during the poll.

The REC further stated that Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECH) will be deployed to all Registration Areas (RAs) to provide technical help in the event of a problem with the operation of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.

"INEC is fully committed to holding a credible, transparent, and inclusive election in Ondo State."

"We urge the good people of Ondo State to turn out in large numbers on election day, exercise their right to vote peacefully, and contribute to the democratic process."

"We guarantee you that every vote counts, and all we can do about vote buying is continuing to educate people to avoid it. So we are working hard to win the upcoming governorship race.
