'Fela died early because he did not mind his business.' - Portable.
Controversial Portable, a Nigerian singer, blamed his own suicide on the late Afrobeats pioneer and campaigner, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
Portable criticized Fela during his most recent podcast with media sensation Quincy Jonze on the 'Echoo Room'.
In a now-trending interview on social media, the musician stated that Fela died prematurely because he did not mind his own business.
Also, in response to his online dispute with rapper Zlatan Ibile, Portable referred to him as the devil who caused the misunderstanding between himself and Davido.
"According to what we were taught, if Fela had been more responsible, he would have lived a longer life. But he was too busy battling for Nigerians who refused to fight for themselves.
"I was in America searching for international artists. I was busy showing my madness online when Davido called me to come. Me and Davido did not quarrel until when the devil Zlatan came.”
