TikTok Drama: Bobby Accuses Peller’s Fans of Sabotage After Account Ban

By TalkTalk Nigeria

Popular Nigerian content creator, Bobby, has accused fans of TikToker Peller of mass-reporting his TikTok account, leading to its ban. This controversy erupted shortly after Peller’s follower count dropped from 9.7 million to 9.6 million, allegedly due to Bobby’s call for influencers and skit makers to speak up on national issues.

Bobby, who has been vocal about social issues, clarified that his intention was never to attack Peller personally but to encourage influencers to use their platforms for meaningful conversations. In a video, he expressed frustration, stating:

“Out of all the videos I’ve made in my 30-day challenge, calling out the bad things happening in the country, the one where I said people should unfollow influencers who aren’t speaking up—now people went to unfollow Peller. Is that my fault?”

According to Bobby, his call for social accountability was misunderstood by Peller’s fans, leading them to retaliate by reporting his account. He also revealed that he has received threats, including messages from individuals claiming they would consult spiritualists to curse him and his family.

Bobby’s Defiant Response

Despite the setback, Bobby remains undeterred, boldly stating that no amount of bans or intimidation will silence him. He announced the creation of a backup TikTok account and made it clear that he would continue to speak out:

“If you ban this one, I’ll open another. If you ban that one, I’ll open another. This is my face—it always comes back. Trying to silence me will only push me to speak even more.”

The Bigger Picture: Influence vs. Responsibility

This clash between Bobby and Peller’s fanbase highlights a growing issue in social media culture—the responsibility of influencers in shaping conversations on national issues. While some influencers focus on entertainment, critics argue that those with massive followings should also use their platforms to advocate for change.

Bobby’s stance reflects a broader sentiment among young Nigerians who are demanding more accountability from public figures. However, it also raises concerns about cancel culture, fan wars, and the power dynamics on social media.

Final Thoughts—Freedom of Speech or Digital Bullying?

The question remains: Was Bobby unfairly targeted, or did he provoke an unnecessary backlash? Should influencers be obligated to speak on national matters, or should they have the freedom to choose their content?

One thing is certain—this incident exposes the fragile balance between influence, accountability, and the consequences of public opinion in the digital age.

What do you think? Should influencers be held accountable for staying silent on important issues? Or is Bobby taking things too far? Let’s discuss! 👇🏾
