Paris 2024 Olympics: 'A remarkable journey' - FIBA salutes brave D'Tigress after US defeat

The Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) has stated that Nigeria's D'Tigress's outstanding performance at the 2024 Olympic Games will be remembered for a long time.

Rena Wakama's team was eliminated from the women's basketball tournament on Wednesday night, losing 88-74 against defending champions USA.

In the group stage, D'Tigress defeated the world's third-ranked Australia and fifth-ranked Canada.

They made history as the first African team to compete in an Olympic quarterfinal.

"A fascinating run that we will remember for a long time," FIBA posted on X.

"Nigeria, you're leaving Paris on the highest note."
