Paris 2024 Olympics: Why We Lost to France - D'Tigress Boss, Wakama
Rena Wakama, the head coach of the D'Tigress, stated that her players were not at their best during the setback to France.
On Thursday, the African champions were defeated 75-54 by the hosts in their second group game of the 2024 Olympic Games' women's basketball competition.
Much was anticipated of D'Tigress following their remarkable win over Australia in their opening game on Monday.
The West Africans were, however, completely outplayed by the French during the encounter.
"We didn't play our game, we weren't ourselves; what helped us win on Monday, we didn't bring today," Wakama told FIBA.com.
"It's tough when you allow another team to shoot 63 percent inside the paint.
"It's hard to beat anybody, we need to get back to our ways."
D'Tigress will meet Canada in their last group game on Sunday.
